I'm assuming that you're talking about a toenail or a fingernail here? Not a construction nail that you managed to get stuck into you?
Whenever I've had work done on my toenails or fingernails, including having them pulled to allow for a new one to grow in it's place, the doctor has used an injection of novacaine, just like a dentist uses for working on your teeth. Works great! What substance do doctors use for numbing if you get a nail removed?
A common drug is called xylocaine. It is most commonly used

What's the best way to remove Nail extensions at home.?
I've had my nails done for a week and now i want to remove them myself. What's the best way to remove Nail extensions at home.?

ACETONE in a glass bowl to soak off. Cover with a towel whilst soaking to minimise vapour.
use garden shears
there is a product called get em off which you can buy from boots and other stores its about 拢3 it takes off nail varnish and false nails I have used it and its good. You just put some in a bowl and soak your nails for about 5 minutes and the nails just melt off, its a very good nail varnish remover too.
soak in acatone. You can buy it at any beauty supply store.
Happy Soaking!
You can soak them in hot water that usually loosens them up and they come off easier. Or you can try soaking them in acetone for the same effect.
BITE EM BITE EM BITE EM!!!!!
Bottle Opener???? Risk of broken fingers though...
If they are acrylic nails, you can soak them in an ACETONE nail polish remover. That is what they will do at a nail salon, but be patient, because it will take awhile. I have done this in the past, and it kind of makes me react the same way nails on a chalk board do. I really dislike the feeling, but if you are desperate, I would try that.
Also, if you want, you can go to Target or Walmart or wherever and find a manicure kit with an electric tool that has different heads (like a buffer, sander, polisher, etc). IF I were you, I would try to sand down my fake nails so that they are not very long, and let them get loose and fall off by themselves. This way, you will suffere the least amount of damage to your nail. Unfortunately, your nails will still be paper thin and break very easily for about six months or so. I would recommend buying a clear nail polish that ';hardens'; nails to give your nails a little extra protection (Try Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails)
Its REALLY hard, they sell this thing that you can soak them in. and after a few weeks you can soak them in nail polish remover, then pull them off, they will be week then.
DO NOT force them to come off NOW, or else you'll ruin your nails. or if they R just way too long, you can clip/cut them shorter.
Hope I helped
-good luck

How do I safely remove my gel nails, without having to spend money at the nail salon?
They grow out too fast, so I decided to remove them. How do I safely remove my gel nails, without having to spend money at the nail salon?
If you have real UV gel nails, then acetone will NOT remove it. Uv gels are non-porous, and therefore the acetone - or any other liquid, cannot readily penetrate the surface of the nail. Thus, they do not dissolve in acetone or any other solvent. Way to tell if you had real UV gels applied or not: Simple. If the tech used ANY liquid and powder on your nails, you have acrylic nails and yes, acetone will dissolve that. But if you had UV gels applied, and each individual layer was cured under a UV lamp for about 2 minutes, then you do have UB gel nails. UV nail gel looks exactly as the name implies - a gel. It is not a powder. Here is a pic of some UV nail gels made by a very reputable professional nail product company:

That is exactly what UV nail gels look like. If you had this applied to your nails - and NO liquid and powder, then the nails must be filed off by an experienced and highly skilled nail tech. It's not easy to file these off, so that is why I emphasize the fact that you must go to someone who has lots of experience in the removal of UV gel nails. An unskilled tech will ruin your nails so fast it isn't funny. Seriously, you need to have them filed off by someone really good at this. Whatever you do, make sure the tech does NOT pry them off, or force them off in any way at all. This WILL cause serious damage to your natural nails and it will hurt a LOT too.
Good luck! How do I safely remove my gel nails, without having to spend money at the nail salon?
I had UV gel nails and decided to have my nail tech remove them. She pried them off. It hurt like hades! I had previously tried acetone and it does not work on real UV gel nails. Do not believe anyone who tells you it does!
Soak them in acetone (you can buy that at the grocery store...its like a strong nail polish remover) for 15-30 minutes..but before you put them in coat your nails in vaseline so the acetone doesn't dry out or mess up your skin in any way....acetone is some strong stuff! Good luck! :]
yaah there isnt exaclty a safe way but soaking them in pure acetone. not nail polish remover just pure acetone. soak em for about 10-20 min. and just wipe em off. or just go get your nails redone or get a filll~! :]
soak in acetone (pure acetone you can get anywhere)

How to remove nail glue off of my laptop?
polish removerHow to remove nail glue off of my laptop?
you use nail polish removerHow to remove nail glue off of my laptop?
Try using nail polish remover. Use a cue tip and rub it on gently.
nail polish remover
you know in a little tiny place ..try Alcohol..and see if that works...then use a soapy and well squeezed cloth..and wipe it down..but try alittle area first....tell me if it works or not..
Good Luck..
WD-40 on Q-tip let it soak a few mins then lift off w/fingernail
Goofoff should work, it does anything!
nail polish remover, mr clean and you should be good to go girl
i dunno
Goo Gone and alcohol mixed
You could use some nail polish remover on a Q-Tip, but be really careful because it may take off the finish. If it is only in one spot go for it, but if it is all over, I would maybe try something like adhisive remover and see if it would work. Also, you could always go into a local hardware store and see if they have any ';wonder'; products that you could try. Good luck :)
yeah, googone, but be careful how u use it.
take something and chip it off or if its stuck inside the keys try flipping the laptop upside down and bang the back of it so maybe the glue will pop out and the key will pop up
Depending on where it is, nail polish remover will work. Put some on a cotton ball and soak the spot with glue until it comes off. Just make sure it is no where near or on the screen or speakers!
Also, be sure the laptop is unplugged and turned off while doing this. Sounds a bit extreme but its better to be safe than sorry.
tisk tisk tisk.... nail polish remover, but it depends where the nail glue is.
well NOT nail polish remover, it will take the paint off ur laptop
goofoff it works
Lotions break glues down. I don't know is nail glue is any different.
Nail polish remover.
goo gone...id check the label first just to be sure but i think that it would work....
nail polish remover
Nail polish remover will not work. Acetone is what you need. But you need to be extremely carful because it could possibly ruin the finish. Your best bet....leave it alone.
